Surfing

Some of the best breaks and point breaks in the Mediterranean Sea are to be found right here at Calabria and Sicily. The swells on the southern facing coastlines are very dependant on the Sirocco winds from the south eastern quarter pushing up warm winds from Africa, these are a tad fickle and winter time is definatly the best time to be here for a surf. The northern coastlines pick up swell from a northwesterly direction from storms entering the Mediterranean Sea from the Atlantic and tracking east.
