CIA Indian Ocean Atlas: Map of Tromelin Island in the Indian Ocean, 1976

Tromelin Island is a French territory, low and flat 0.8 km² in the Indian Ocean, about 350 km east of Madagascar. The highest point of this island is only 7 metres high. It is a nesting site for seabirds and turtles.

This island is hard to access as there are no harbours or anchorages. It was claimed by Mauritius and the Seychelles.
