Just got a new 9'1" V2 longboard from Mitchell Rae, after the first two surfs in steep pitching A frames I am happy to recommend you check in on Mitchell at Urunga to see if he has something for you.BTW I have no connection with Outer Island I had heard they were good, now I know.big_smileTaking it to the Mentawiis that sort of quality.

Happy old fart!

Is that a hand shaped or epoxy deal Jaff?

Hand shaped, Longi. Very happy very smooth and directly responsive in taking solid drops. We are attuned to each other now and its looking like the Indo type mal and down wave barreliser for my local bar ( you know which one) when it wakes from its slumber!I'm finding it hard to wait for new board and favourite spot to come together big_smile

Talk about perfect timing two surfs in one day first a spot B not my optimum choice but OKish! The swell was little at the bar and sloppy cross shore and the rip from the lake was taking a big tidal chunk out unhappy A gentle wisp outside the break showed that the offshore was comingbig_smilebig_smile. A tide change was due.Lunch and a coffee come back paddle out to a crowd of nil, the offshore starts, thNE here pushes in the south east swell which kicks to 3ft and gets ridiculously hollow only making 2 out of four but reverse superbank type barrels it was!Joined by friends, now 3 out and getting it wired. Made barrel count goes up a full enjoyable session. Oh, the new board fitted into the slot, a definite Indo selection for September! Waaahootongue

Just a report to give credit where credit is due.Took only the Outer Island 9'1" to the Mentawais for a great twenty day stint. The board handled everything I was prepared to take on, and I was able to up my performance level hugely and the board rocks back here too.Looking forward to next big swell to hit, looks like this Friday, Yeehewbig_smile

Update on the Outer Island as a 2+1 set with the side bite previously C drive fins, and a Roxbourgh 9" centre fin which went very well I have taken the C drives off as side bites and added FCS Bonzer fins from the Bonzer quad set (the smaller ones) huge improvement on an already great board now into the magic board class.Nose rides better and easier and longer and further out on the tip.And I am riding deeper and steep than I have for a long time, not just my perception, it has been noticed by the local crew.

One word Venturibig_smile
