general information

The surf at Clubbies is basically the same as that at Sign Posts. Clubbies is located where the Surf Life Saving Club is - clearly a lot of thought went into naming this surf spot.

Further west from Clubbies is Boings, the last section of beach surfed at Thirteenth and popular with long-boarders. There are patches of reef out here but, again, the quality of the waves largely depends on the movement of the sand banks.

Thirteenth Beach is a one minute drive from Barwon Heads. This pleasant coastal town has great cafes, a pub, and a nice little surf shop called Tonik. The town’s claim to fame is as the location where the TV show ‘Sea Change’ was filmed, though only Australian’s are likely to be familiar with this program. The crowds during summer and Easter holidays can be excessive but, generally, Barwon Heads is a pretty peaceful place.
