A very fickle break that needs a huge north swell to work and northerly winds, which are offshore. The wave wraps around into this large bay though almost 180 degrees - hence the northerly offshores - and breaks as a long mellow right hander that is great fun on a longboard. Check it at high tide, there are several peaks along this coast that all work in the same condidtions.
