general information

So named due to its close vicinity to the village of Ghot Yar Muhammad, Muhammad's is a left pointbreak with a forgiving sand bottom. Technically, this wave has been enhanced due to the construction of several groynes in the area that have been used to protect the fishing fleet during the storm season of Oct-Dec in the Arabian Gulf. Now when the swell is up from the SW the swells peel along well stocked sandbanks.

The nearby village is around 6k's away. Travel to that vilage (Ghot Yar Muhammad) is relatively straightforward along Road 25 from Karachi. Getting down to the coast can be a little tricky and should only be attempted in a 4WD in most circumstances. The locals are very friendly however and will be happy to guide you for a few coins. Solid groundswell is rare but this point is quite well protected from the dominant southerly this time of year. The shallow banks here are what makes this wave break so well and consistently, if the re is a decent swell running (over 2m) then it may be worth having a look a few kilometres south at Hab Chauki, similar set up but without the enhanced rock groyne and so slightly deeper banks.

Pollution is not so much of a problem here as the coastal satellites of the main villages are not that large but worth a quick check for any nasties floating in the lineup.
