general information

Long Reef is just south of the Long Reef Golf Course in the hook of the headland. Car park and surf club are down a side road off the main Pittwater Rd.

Long Reef has a few options when it comes to waves. Just off the car park is a series of beach breaks in front of the lagoon that tend to get decent when conditions are right.

Down to the left of the car park is reef break that tends to break further out. The bigger the swell the further out it breaks, in big swells it offer a tow in option right out the back. On regular days it is a series of peaks that can be a bit fickle. The left can die out into deep water, the right is often better and runs back on the reef. Look out for rocks on the inside.

Longy can also be an option during the summer nE winds when everywhere else is blown out.
