general information

South Steyne is the name given to the south end of Manly Beach, basically from the Corso south. Waves here are usually smaller than the rest of the beach so best suited to beginners or families. The onlt time South Steyne gets a look in with experienced surfers is when the rest of the beah is too big or wind blown by the Sou-Easter.

During the summer months this area is often closed to boards due to lifeguards patrolling it as a swimmers area. If you are unsure check with the life guards or read the signs.
