general information

The nearby town of Eggumsveien just to the east will serve as your base here. Eggum itself is a westerly facing coarse pebble beach with deeper offshore banks. It takes a big swell to really make an impact here but as a beachbreak it is one of the more mellower waves here and a great way to ease into surfing in such freezing water.

The wave is predominately a left but a swell with a more northerly vector will also create a sharp very quick right. Be cautious of any shore break beach sections no matter how good they look. Coming off into a face full of gravel in freezing water is not something you want to be spending a lot of time doing.
