general information
Stokes Bay is on the top (north side) of Kangaroo Island about half way along the island. About 50km west of Kingscote. Stokes is a beach break that produces fun waves in big West swells and south winds. Can get very cold in the winter months.
Waves aren't difficult but they can be fun on the right day. Very suited to all abilities. The only thing you have to be mindful of is that you are surfing in a fairly remote region, medical help is at least 40 minutes away. Although sharks are rarely sighted in this area, this is South Australia! Keep an eye out just in case...
