general information
The father of Fairy Bower. This break lies further around the point and really only breaks in the larger Southerly swells. Ridiculous overcrowding at Fairy Bower encouraged surfers to venture further around the point, first to Deadmans, then Winkipop and finally this journey reached an illogical conclusion at the mythical Blue Fish Point.
Winki is a solid right hander, fickle at the best of times and notoriously hard to maintain station over what is essentially an open ocean reef. The nearby headland offers a fantastic peanut gallery of observers that are useful from the persepctive of being able to see the waves well before you. So if you hear people screaming then make sure you arent going to be caught inside. Being caught inside here will probably equate to the most embarising and painful experience of your surfing career.
On epic days, the wave at wink can connect right through to the Deadmans section and then on through the bower, a ride of over 400 metres. Access via a well timed cliff jump near the entry point for Fairy Bower.
