A rare novelty wave deep within Sydney Harbour. Balmoral Beach is typically silent, only a small shorebreak disrupts this idealic beach and family park. There is a very narrow ESE window however leading directly from the beach through Sydney heads. Powerful winter storm systems occasionally file through at this direction. Mansions is the name for the reef / point set up on the southern section of Balmoral Beach itself. Worth a look if everything is out of control - and by that really out of control (5M+ swell)

The wave itself basically consists of a slab of energy folding over a shallow rock shelf. A short but powerful wave best left to the bodyboarding community. Longboarders need not apply.
