general information

A fantastic wave, but only available to you if you happen to be staying on the island.  Saturday is the changeover day between guest parties and a lottery is run to organise who is permitted to surf the break. As you can probably imagine, those changeover days can be a tad busy in the water. The other surrounding islands are typically full of hungry surfers on their vacation sitting around scratching their head thinking 'is there really surf on Fiji?' There is but there isn't if you know what I mean. Wilkes Passage is the only regular quality wave not 'owned' by a resort in this area; as a result it can be very busy when it's all coming together.

Namotu itself is a quality wave, boast passage from the resort straight into the line-up makes every session a pleasure, remember to kick off at the end of your ride, don’t fall into the trap of going for that final barrel section - no one gets out of it.
