general information

After a leisurely stroll along the Nobby's Peninsula lies The Wedge. This whole stretch of coastline was artificially constructed in the 1800's to form what is now the eastern border of Newcastle Harbour. The Wedge is a tidy beachbreak peak that relies upon swell bounce back from the nearby breakwall to create a wedging A frame peak that rifles along a short reef before closing out with extreme vengeance.

Favourite with the local bodyboarding scene. On larger swells the wave will break on more distant reefs offering something that it definetly approachable on a shortboard.
