general information
True regional classic requiring a very large S-SE groundswell to truly bring it alive. 4WD is by far the easiest way to reach the southern point but a long walk towards the point from Hawks Nest or Winda Woppa is conceivable.
Depending on the size and quality of the swell the wave will break further around the point and wrap right around the headland, one of the longer lefts on the east Australian coast in it's prime.
On fuller tides a perfect longboarding spot, almost a reverse Noosa 1st point, the lower the tide the higher the ante. Shortboards and bodyboards come out to play in larger swells that generate definite hollow sections of considerable note. Get amonst it nice and early if it looks like coming together, the locals will try to stake the point out as soon as they get out there. No asshattery, fluoro or black and white striped wetsitd and you should get a few waves however.
