general information

Town beach of Sawtell provides consistent and fun peaks in most swells from NE to SE, when favorable winds. On larger swells, look for the big sandbank that builds between the headland and the reef (Sawtell Island) at the southern end of the beach, which can produce classic long and fast rights.

The reef also provides protection for a gentle beach tucked in the southern corner, perfect for a swim or sunbake. Also check southside of the Headland which can turn on nice lefts off the rockpool, and protection in Nor'easters.
