general information

Fast, hollow, and breaking over a very shallow reef, this is one serious wave. So only serious surfers need paddle out. When it's working it will produce world class left hand barrels that will make you look twice to check you are not in Hawaii. Breaks best when it's big, and really needs offshore or glassy conditions to really get going. Doesn't break that often but when it does, there will be a crowd-a-plenty, guns in hand ready to make a name of themselves.

One of the best waves in the Caribbean on the rare days it works. Locally Chatarra means junk, and refers to the old local practice of using old car wrecks as a breakwater to protect the road. Fortunately today there is a permanent stone one serving this purpose.
