general information

Unfortunately, guinea is not the west african dream surf destination that yu may have had in mind. Might rivers basically turn the entire coast into a delta and deposit banks that run kilometres offshore. A lot of the coast is mangrove and the few beaches near settleemtns are badly polluted.

The few offshore islands are your best bet. Those in line with a river system seem to develop regular banks that unfortunately require the rarer SW swells to work. Quigon is one of the best exposed islands that does produce good surf on its SW tip. Crocodiles and sharks are never far from your mind in these waters.
