general information
Just around the headland to the north from south bay. A little further out of town from Scarborough south bay so not quite as busy but still very popular. North bay is north easterly facing so it hoovers up any north easterly swell going, can be a good indicator as to what the rest of the coast is doing. Can have some quality banks producing fun lefts and rights. At the south end of the bay is a new man made coastal sea defence which can produce some good right handers at mid tide with a 4ft swell, any bigger and close outs can occur. At high tide the sea is right up to the wall and unsurfable. The north end of the bay has some off shore reefs with great potential though rarely, if ever, surfed. Parking all around the bay on Royal Albert and Marine Drive.
