La Punta is located at the southern end of Playa Zicatela. A powerful left hand point break, that can have great waves. Usually a few feet smaller than the gnarly tubes of Puerto Escondido further north along the beach, this place is fun when its small and has fast, steeper walls with a few makable sections when it gets bigger. Great place for those not wanting to risk life and limb at the famous break at the other end of the beach.
