general information

Like all tidal bores, this break requires a combination of king tides with full moon phases to work at it's best. As the tide floods up the deeper river delta it feels the bottom fairly rapidly once passing a large island and then funnels into a far tighter stream of water.

The result is a very high quality tidal wave averaging 1.5 metres in peak seasons that routinely barrels with solid wall sections on offer as well. Easily rideable on a shortboard but towing in is recommended to reduce the time you paddle in this water - lots of nasties and bities.
