general information
Soldiers Beach lies just south of the Norah Head and provides a few good surfing options. The Point at the northern end has a nice ledgy left hander that likes bigger northeasterly swells, while the beachies infront of the clubhouse and further down the beach offer fun waves that pick up any south to east swell. Punchiness of these waves is dependent on sandbar formation, but most often you'll only get a close out barrels at the lower end of the tide. At the southern end of the beach, there is also right hander off the point, called "sunset". Can get crowded in summer when it offers some protection from nor'east winds.
