general information

Dixcove is a small fishing village a few kilometres south of Busua. Outside the small harbour, you will find a nice right hand point break that can pack a punch on those larger and longer period southerly swells. Mostly though it's manageable for intermediates and above. Access by long walk from Busua or the village, or grab a local boat.

Dixcove is the site of one of the many historic forts built in Ghana. This one is Fort Metal Cross, an English-built fort which was completed in 1698, which dominates the harbour and town from the east.
