general information

Waipiʻo Bay is located in the picturesque Waipio Vaelly and is black sand beach stretching over a kilometre. To get here you'll need a 4WD to negotiate the steep drive in or a long hike.  When you do make it here you'll find sucky beach break peaks all along the beach, giving fast rides and hollow tubes.  The best bet is in front of the rivermouth at the centre of the beach where the outflow keeps the sandbar topped up.

The Waipiʻo Valley is often referred to as the "Valley of the Kings" because it was once the home to many of the rulers of Hawaii.
