general information
THE wave in Senegal. A-frame peak forming over rock-reef in front of the cliffs near the small fishing village of Ouakam. A quality spot this one with powerful waves giving up perfect barrel sections and then large wackable walls. However needs a large swell to wrap into the bay and really set it off, that doesn't happen that often. Summer southwest swells can get it going but it's the large northern hemisphere winter storm swells that will send every surfer in the country worth his salt to this spot. One of the best waves in West Africa. Opportunity for some sight seeing as the takeoff zone is right in front of the large Mosque at Ouakam.
