general information
Located on the Mediterranean coast of Egypt, Marakia is a village resort development with a 1.5 km stretch of beach. Peaky beach breaks are found just near the Hilton Borg El Arab resort, and can yield fun waves. Potentially one of the better spots on this coast. Marakia was originally known as Marmarina, the name is extracted from the Arabic word 'marmar', meaning marble.
