general information

A right hand wedge that breaks over sandy bottom at the entrance to the Lagoon outside Lagos. The wave rebounds into a single peak that in a solid southern hemi south swell can provide sucky barrels to be spat out of. On smaller days it provides steep walls. Access requires taking a boat from Lagos. Water quality here can be quite scary, but nevertheless on weekends you'll find a throng of locals and expats. You wouldn't travel 1000 miles to surf it, but if you are stuck in Nigeria, it's the place to go.  Can have a wave any time off year but the Harmattan blowing offshore all day, and better water quality make the dry season preferred if there's a souths well running.
