general information

'rocking off' is a new experience for the uninitiated here. Many of the locals enter the water by strolling out on the pier and taking the 10 metre jump out the back. Mayhem results of course in strong winds when one starts throwing 9 foot longboards into the ether so paddling out is probably the option for the novice here. The wave is basically a left hand wedge formed by the pier and the sandbank trapped to the east of it.

Suprsisingly this is often a fairly well groomed bank, the missing ingredient is typically swell. Ground swells are rare but windswell whilst smaller is usually in abundance. Best suited to a longboard or your standard fish in most conditions. Access is strait from your car onto the beach and then straight to the pub for a bowl of mussels before your internal organs freeze over.
