general information
A rare gem of Far North Queensland. Take the Pacific Highway as far north as it will go until it turns into the trail to Somerset. Head east from Somerset in a 4WD until you strike the small beaches on the coast, if you have timed this trip correctly you will now be greeted by a 4-8 foot peak about 1000m offshore. The left and right break with similar intensity with the final swell direction dictating which will be the better on any given day. The fuel for this break is cyclonic swell. Any swell needs to thread through the outlying barrier reef prior to arrival so basically a 3m swell offshore will result in a 2 foot wave, but ah what a wave.
