general information
Hosta is a white sandy beach that serves as the main break for the North Uist surfing scene (a small but hardy bunch). There are actually two beaches here. Traigh stir near the car park and Traigh Bheireal which requires a bit of a hike. It can have some fun waves and sometimes turn it on. However in winter it's usually massive and stormy, and summer mushy, but time the seasons right and get lucky and you may be surprised. Not much here so bring everything with you.
