general information

Croyde is probably one of the most popular surf spots in Britain and is at the hub of the North Devon surfing scene and for good reason. When firing properly at 4-6ft at low tide it can have some powerful board snapping peaks not unlike Hossegor in France. Add to this the fact that it's a fairly small beach and crowds are a real problem. At the north end of the beach is Baggy Point Reef, a right hander that needs a very high tide to work, a small take off zone means it doesn't carry a crowd.
